Betrayed!

Back in 2013 the Oswego County Democratic Committee approached me asking me to run for Oswego County Legislature in the 25^th District. This was to run against a person that had been a long-time family friend. I hesitated but I finally said yes.

I asked them if they knew who and what I stood for?  I said if you understand that I’m going to stand for the people not a party. If you agree with that then I’m your man.

The 2013 Oswego County Democratic Committee knew I was a John F. Kennedy Democratic, and they accepted that and welcomed me with open arms.

The 1^st BETRAYAL came with the approval of moving the main polling location on the eastside of Fulton not only out of District 25 but outside the City. The move was fought by me on the grounds it wasn’t on a Bus route, and it wasn’t convenient for many of the voters on the eastside of the river. I was being a Public Servant, fighting for the Public. The Oswego County Democratic Committee accepted this move without a fight.

The next BETRAYAL came in 2021 when after taking a hiatus of 2yrs I decided to run again for County Legislator in the 25^th District again. Well, the Oswego County Democratic Committee labeled me a TRAITOR and attempted to have a Democrat run a primary against me. BETRAYING me again. The Oswego County Democratic Committee did not endorse me. I won the election to return to the seat I had vacated two years earlier. I ran on the Democratic line on the ballot along with the Conservative line having been endorsed by the Conservatives.

In 2023 I again ran for office as Oswego County Legislator for the 25^thDistrict and once again the Oswego County Democratic Committee didn’t endorse me. Another BETRAYAL. Once again, I ran on the Democratic line and also again the Oswego County Conservatives endorsed me and I was on the ballot on the Conservative line.

Now in 2025 with no support in a fight to stop the redistricting lines in Oswego County from the Oswego County Democratic Committee and along with the case of facing a Primary from my own Democratic party in the election in November.

This final BETRAYAL was the straw that broke the camel’s back. After representing the Democratic party for 10 years as a John F. Kennedy Democrat. I find it is time to let the Democratic Committee try and fill my seat with their choice.

I will not force a primary I will not run for re-election.

I want to thank the voters in the 25^th District for electing me 5 times to be their representative.

I also want to thank the Conservative party of Oswego County for their support and endorsement over the years. They knew and understood who and what I was all about.

I will endorse and support only two candidates for election this November.

They are Marie Schadt 19^th District and Joe Arduini  22nd District.
