Jim Rice is running for Mayor of Fulton this year

Jim Rice is running for Mayor of Fulton this year. All around the City, there are signs that say “Seek Common Ground!” His team (which also includes Ryan Taylor in the 6th ward and Don Patrick in the 3rd) has been putting those up. It is one of the main themes of Jim’s campaign. In the voting booth, in addition to line one, you will also find his name under the “Seek Common Ground” party.

These last few years have been a very contentious time in our nation’s history and in Fulton as well. We are more polarized than ever before. Jim is running for Mayor to help bridge that divide and make a difference. He has successfully worked across party lines both at home and in his experience as a member of the City Council. Jim and his wife are registered in different political parties. He was President of the Fulton Common Council despite the fact that ALL of the other members were of opposite political beliefs. Jim has worked across Party Lines before, and will do so again.

More about Mr. Rice: his experience includes service on various municipal task forces, committees, and the Fulton Common Council. Jim and his wife, raised their family, worked and volunteered in various capacities to improve the quality of life in their city. His local roots, experience and community involvement have been helpful in his preparation. Plus, he will be a FULL – Time Mayor, available to everyone.

If elected, he will govern in an independent and bi-partisan manner, while advocating for jobs, fiscal restraint and City Government Reform. No matter what, just as he has done in the past, he will always put “People before Politics.”

He is “the everyman candidate with a link to the past, but willing to build a team for the future.” – Palladium Times 5/16/2023
