Letter to the Editor

Letter to the editor

I’m writing to share my concerns about the growing tensions between the different political parties in our country. While America has survived, and actually been strengthened by spirited discussions about how best to keep our democracy alive, recently those discussions have turned negative and harmful.

In light of this, I wanted to share that Indivisible-Oswego County, will be holding a town hall event to address this very issue.  IOC is a non-partisan community of like-minded individuals committed to supporting our American democracy through peaceful protests, regular attendance at Oswego County Legislature meetings, phone calls, letter writing, and more.

On Saturday, September 27, from 1 to 3pm, IOC will be hosting Rich Logis, the founder of LeavingMAGA.org at the Lake Ontario Convention Center, 26 E. 1st Street Oswego, NY. for IOC’s second Town Hall.

Rich started his group after a number of years as a MAGA follower. But starting in 2020, I realized I had been mistaken.”

Since he began helping others feel safe enough to leave the MAGA world, Rich has met many others around the country who’ve taken that step. Many of us have a friend or relative that we have felt separated from as a result of political decisions of the past. I urge everyone to attend this event and learn how we can all help one another begin to heal.

You can find out more about this event, Leaving MAGA.org, and Invisible-Oswego County at indivisibleoc.com or by our linktr.ee QR code

Sincerely,
