Letter To The Editor: What’s Wrong Here?

Letter to the editor: Frank Castiglia Jr.

-Elected 6, Rank and file 3

What’s wrong with the picture here.

If the Tentative Oswego County Budget is passed as it is right now.

The above numbers mean that members of Oswego County Legislature will receive a 6% raise. The Rank and file will only receive a 3% raise.

The Elected officials except for the Sheriff, County Clerk and Treasure, will vote themselves a raise.

The Rank and File must sit down for months at a table and negotiate their raises (if any).

Now a year ago we watched as a group of Social Service workers spoke to the Legislative body. Now this group wasn’t all Caseworkers, but they told personal stories of working for the County and still being on Public Assistance.

Only asking for a living wage and benefits.

 That is very sad.

Some departments have people leaving in droves, some departments can’t fill vacancies.

There is no lack of Elected Officials!

In fact, there are 6 to many.

Please come to the Oswego county Legislative meeting on 12-15-22 at 2pm in the Oswego county building on the 4th floor and express your thoughts about elected officials voting to give themselves a raise.

Legislator Frank Castiglia Jr.

25th District Oswego County
