MEDICARE ADVANTAGE HEALTHCARE PROGRAM FOR SENIORS IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR

If the government fails to support full funding for the Medicare Advantage program, 2027 could be a grim year for seniors who depend on Medicare Advantage for all their healthcare needs.

As a senior who proudly served my country in our armed forces, and a Medicare Advantage beneficiary for years. I’ve always been grateful for its affordability and easy use. I appreciate the wide range of doctors I can see, and that my prescription drug costs are well within my ability to afford. I also appreciate that the program offers many supplementary options at no extra cost. Glasses, dental work, exercise programs, and even nutritional counseling are covered. These additional options are not really extras, though. For many seniors, these benefits are vital to their quality of life and ability to remain active and independent.

I’m concerned about what will happen to the Medicare Advantage program and seniors who depend on it if it is underfunded – which maybe the case. Seniors could lose access to benefits and providers, all while having to pay higher premiums and co-pays. Many seniors would even be left with the sad choice between paying for healthcare or meeting other financial necessities.

I’m respectfully calling on New York’s Congressional representatives to protect seniors by encouraging President Trump and his administration to continue their strong support for Medicare Advantage.

Sincerely,
Fred Williams
