First and foremost I am an avid sports fan and faithfully watch the Yankees and N.Y. Giants, looking forward to playoff baseball and football. I also have a pretty good knowledge of our legal system and court proceedings, despite the media, everyone is “innocent” until proven guilty. But reading each day the sports news there is a new story of alleged charges against a NFL player that has either been delayed because of the upcoming draft or after their contracts have been agreed upon or after the season starts and the NFL team will wait to see what happens with the legal proceedings. Hence, putting their franchise priorities ahead of any alleged victim. Some of these allegations go back
several months, of course during the off season. The same sports league that had no problem letting players kneel during out nation’s national anthem. So I guess, if you are just a regular citizen that is involved in legal proceedings similar to these millionaire athletes and want to delay them, just have your defense attorney inform the judge you are expecting a salary raising promotion and see how things play out.
