Attention: City of Fulton residents,
Tuesday June 11th there is a Public Hearing scheduled to be held at 7pm at City Hall in the Community room.
This Public Hearing is regarding the Rezoning maps for the DRI projects.
This hearing is very important to the entire city of Fulton taxpayers.
The rezoning is very important in that it will allow the restructuring of most of the east side of Fulton.
However, the taxing of the entire city will change.
The rezoning of the entire Nestle’ site will have a very large effect on the cities assessed value.
The current zoning being presented will allow for Condos, Townhouses, Duplexes, Triplexes, and Quadruplexes, along with other businesses.
If it stays as the above-mentioned zoning the Nestle’ site has a great big chance of becoming a Housing project. Similar to Champlain Commons(In Scriba) or Mona Knolls(sp)(In Granby) Both of which are public safety call magnets…
Now the best line I heard as to why we should add more affordable rental properties in Fulton is this: “If you build them the businesses will come here” Kind of like putting the cart in front of the horse.
This will fall in line with what Governor Hochul is looking to create. She appears to be looking for housing for all the sanctuary seekers. She has made NYS a Sanctuary State, and now she appears to want to make Fulton a Sanctuary City.
If the proposed zoning stands this housing development will only pay a minimal tax, through a P.I.L.O.T. agreement and the remaining taxes will be picked up by the entire taxpaying homeowners and non-P.I.L.O.T. agreement businesses.
Not the east side but the entire city.
If they put in single family homes, owner occupied they would bring in real property tax money, not a drain on the public safety and the taxpayers.
Come to the Public Hearing, voice your agreement or displeasure with the rezoning of the Nestle’ site.
