FYI – Some facts you may or may not know.
Are you having sewer problems in the city of Fulton?
Homeowners are responsible for repairs to sewer problems from the center of the road (city main line) to your house.
These costs may be very high.
Most homes on the east side of Fulton have water and sewer lines that are on the average more than 70 years old.
Most of these homes are owned by seniors, who are on a fixed income.
The west side of Fulton isn’t very far behind in the age of its water and sewer lines.
I have noticed over the past few years more and more homeowners having problems with their sewer lines.
There may be help in the form of a grant program that will help with the costs to repair your sewer lines.
The grant program is CDBG (Community Development Block Grant), it has been used primarily in the rural areas of the county for wells and septic systems.
I was informed this past month that it also is available to city homeowners also for their sewer lines.
At this point in time the only agency administrating this grant program in Oswego County (I believe) is CDP (Community Development Programs) at the County Building in Oswego.

The coordinator is Donna Scanlon, although anyone in that group would be able to help you with obtaining an application.
I have been informed that our own CDA (Community Development Agency) should apply for this block grant program and make it available to city of Fulton homeowners.
When and if they do, the city of Fulton homeowners will be able to apply through that agency instead of through the county.
Their number is 593-7166. Joe Fiumara is the director and will be able to inform you when and if the city has this grant program available.
Not to mislead you.
Some of you may be eligible for a full grant and some may be eligible for partial and also for a very low interest loan for the costs that you have to pay.
There will be a limited number available each year.
If at first you don’t succeed try, try again.
It doesn’t hurt to call and ask.
