Dear Editor:
Today’s political climate is filled with mud-slinging, lies, and constant attacks. While critiquing an opponent’s policies and views can help voters make informed choices, personal attacks should have no place in politics- and this is something that good people on both sides can come together and agree on.
James Corl’s opponent for State Senate District 50 is not only personally attacking James, but is also slandering his mother, Amy. James’ mother is one of the most beautiful, hard-working, and loving people I have ever met. She has been an elementary school teacher in Cicero for the past 23 years, shaping the hearts and minds of our community’s youth. She is constantly looking for ways to lift others up, and she is a true inspiration to her family, students, and community.
As a mother and former teacher myself, I can relate to Amy in many ways. The love she
shows to everyone in her life is a true testament to her true character.
For James’ opponent to attack her for simply supporting her son is shameful and despicable. People are sick of this type of politics that seeks to divide people based on false narratives and lies.
James Corl will bring fresh new leadership to home. While James’ opponent is focused
on division and spreading hate, James is ready to bring solutions that will make New York safer
and more affordable for all of Central New York.
