Stand Strong for Medicare Advantage

Dear Editor,
As a veteran who relies on Medicare Advantage, I want to ask that Congresswoman Tenney, Senator Schumer and Gillibrand do all they can to ensure it remains affordable and fully funded for the millions of people who rely on this private sector healthcare option.
It’s not just about covering doctor visits—it’s about preventive care and wellness programs that help people feel like themselves, not just a patient. This kind of support matters, especially as people age and want to stay independent and connected.
The nice thing about Medicare Advantage is that people are not constantly bracing for unexpected bills or getting lost in a maze of paperwork. For many people, the cost of one hospital visit or a new prescription can hit hard. Medicare Advantage removes a huge layer of stress from their lives. They can focus on spending time with their families and not managing red tape or making tough financial choices about healthcare.
There’s been a lot of chatter about possible cuts to the program, and that makes folks worry. We need a stable Medicare Advantage program so we can have assurances that our healthcare will be there when we need it.
As Congress works on the “big, beautiful” reconciliation bill, I’m asking our leaders in Congress to stand strong and protect Medicare Advantage. Families like mine are counting on their continued leadership to stand up for a program that works—and makes healthcare easier for so many of us.
