Trump & Claudia Tenney, Bad for Americans with Disabilities.

Recently, President Trump said that California Governor Gavin Newsom shouldn’t seek the White House in 2028 because of his dyslexia. He also served as Mayor and Lt. Governor and his disability didn’t affect his job performance. Over a decade ago, the President mocked a disabled reporter. Acted like a bully, both incidents were inexcusable.

Trump’s comments insulted millions of Disabled Americans who have major life aspirations. I have lived with a disability my whole life and was always encouraged to pursue my goals.

In addition to the inappropriate remarks, the President has:

1) Dismantled the Education Department which enforced disability inclusion.

2) Eliminated White House Sign Language Interpreters.

3) Eliminated Federal work from home options.

4) 2026 budget eliminates Centers for Excellence in Disabilities Education.

5) Attempted to limit absentee ballots which affects voters with transportation challenges.

6) Increased bureaucratic eligibility.

7) Modified ACA, Medicaid & Supplemental Security Income, etc.

Veterans & Senior Citizens are also impacted by these policies.

Advocates are saying this administration has created a “War on Disability.” My Congresswoman, Claudia Tenney, voted for the “Big Beautiful Bill” which implemented some of these changes.

There used to be Bi-Partisan Consensus on Disability Issues. It was a Republican President and a Democratic Congress that enacted the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990.

Now it’s a Republican President and a Congresswoman (enabling him) who changed that and their actions are downgrading the quality of life for Americans with Disabilities.
