United Way’s Stone Soup Luncheon a Success

I extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who lent their support to United Way’s Annual Stone Soup Luncheon graciously hosted by St. Joseph’s Parish in Oswego.

From the many community members who attended, to the businesses and organizations that helped make the event possible, our Stone Soup Luncheon was a perfect example of engaging the community to come together to show their support for the our mission of ending hunger in Oswego County.

Special thanks to The Press Box, Vona’s Restaurant, Canale’s Restaurant; Oswego County Country Club, the American Foundry, and Bridie Manor for providing our soups and Bosco & Geers, Davis Brothers, Dunkin’ Donuts, Paul’s Big M, and Cakes Galore who graciously donated our other menu items.

Our Stone Soup Luncheon would not have been possible if not for the efforts of our committee members; Marion Ciciarelli of Oswego Health; Aaron Thorpe of Vanguard Title and Research, Helen Hoefer of Catholic Charities and MaryLue Ferguson and of course our many community volunteers including; Doreen Clark Deb Deeb, Dan Hoefer, Dick Delaney, Erin Nalle, Kathy Fenlon, Mary Kay Manicca, Tim Archer, Tara Hjur, Genevieve Hall, Amanda Millier, Kathy Burt, Gabrielle Izard, and Lorraine Smith.

Thanks to the support we received from community members who attended, and generous donations from the Oswego Lions Club and Oswego Rotary, our Annual Stone Soup Luncheon raised $2,300 and collected several boxes of food for food pantries in Oswego County.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
Ali McGrath
