We worry about pandas, not communists

Letter to the editor:
Donald Trump for many months has held up arms sales to Taiwan, creating a backlog of many billions in weapons transfers to this democratic nation. Now we know why. At his recent meeting with Xi Jinping in D.C., he tried to promote arms sales to mainland Communist China. His own U.S. Ambassador to China disclosed this, even though such sales would be illegal.
Our glorious President does not care that communist China is everybody’s enemy, including not just the billions living in the east, but the billions living in the west as well. American politicians once knew enough about communism to understand we should never support a communist regime whether politically, economically, or militarily. Donald Trump doesn’t care.
Communist China has been stealing military technology from the U.S. America has placed trade restrictions and sanctions on China. China is likely helping Iran fight America and Israel. Donald Trump doesn’t care.
Americans, for our part, could care less, as long as we have those cute Pandas to gawk at once again!
