Oswego Boys’ Golf Team Wins In Wind, Rain

The Oswego Boys’ Golf Team battled the elements and Central Square on Thursday and came out victorious at home, though the team was a little wet and very cold walking off the ninth hole at Oswego County Club. The match was close (220-226) but the boys survived and earned their ninth victory of the season. Going in to their final two matches of the 2008 season, the Bucs are 9-4 overall and 7-3 in league play.

Corey Schuffenecker earned co-medalist honors again for the Bucs, shooting a five-over-par score of 40 on a difficult day to play. Corey has the lowest stroke average on the team this year, and his consistent play has been a major part of the team’s success.

Also scoring in the match were team members Matt Lloyd (43), John Gorman (44), Scott Quenville (46), and Alex Bush (47). The Bucs are hoping the rain stops next week when they finish off their season with a match against Rome on Monday and Baldwinsville on Thursday.
