OSWEGO, NY – Do to the Martin Luther King holiday, the Oswego Common Council’s committees will meet on Tuesday night.
Councilors will have busy agendas at all three meetings.
The councilors will discuss requests for zone changes at several locations around the city and propose some public hearings regarding the requests.
A request to seek bids for the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Project will also be discussed.
Fire Chief Jeff McCrobie has requested a discussion regarding the 2012 ambulance rates.
In 2011, OFD ambulance transported 2,330 patients to Oswego Hospital.
“We currently do not charge ‘in city’ mileage, but can,” the chief said.
The number of transports in 2011 times 1.7 (average to Oswego Hospital) times $6 (Medicare pays) equals $23,766, the chief pointed out.
He said he’d also like a charge of $200 to link to another agency and change the rates for sign-offs; $150 for Basic Life Support and $200 for Advanced Life Support.
Also on tap is consideration of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce’s plans for the 2012 Independence Day Celebration, the Oswego Farmers’ Market and other upcoming events in Oswego and Fulton.
The committee meetings will get under way at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber on the second floor of City Hall.
