Oswego County Commends Student for Grassroots Recycling Effort


The Oswego County Infrastructure and Facilities Committee recently presented Quinn Staats with a certificate of recognition. As a sixth-grade student at Central Square Middle School, Staats began a recycling program with a letter to her principal. She went on to create needed recycling boxes for classrooms and oversaw the removal of recyclable paper. She continued her efforts with a letter-writing campaign to all 4,440 students in her school district to share with them the importance of recycling at home as well as at school.
