The Oswego County Federal Credit Union Jazz & Blues Park will be the site of nearly a dozen bands for Harborfest in 2013.
The popular eastside venue, located in Washington Square, traditionally is the setting for some of the best regional and national jazz and blues artists each year.
Oswego’s Harborfest, New York State’s Premier Admission-Free Festival, will be proud to welcome three days full of great music to the Labatt Blue Light Jazz & Blues Stage from Friday through Sunday July 26-28.
Getting things started off on Friday July 26 in the Oswego County Federal Credit Union Jazz & Blues Park will be “Our Friends Band,” based in Oswego. They will bring their blend of funky blues to the Labatt Blue Light Jazz & Blues Stage at 1:30.
Next up will be “Funky Blu Roots,” from Pompano Beach, Florida. They will entertain the crowd with their blues rock show at 3:30.
The third slot on Friday belongs to the “Billy Hector Band” from New Jersey. This group, taking the stage at 5:30, boasts Asbury Park Awards for Best Guitarist, Best Blues Band and Living Legend.
Next up on the schedule will be the “Jimmy Wolf Band” from the Mohawk Valley region of New York State. Their blues, rock and R&B show will hit the stage at 7:30.
Rounding out the night on the Labatt Blue Light Jazz & Blues Stage will be “Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues” with roots dating back to Chicago in 1964 working with Muddy Waters.
This final performance on the first full day of Harborfest in the Oswego County Federal Credit Union Jazz & Blues Park will be at 9:30.
Saturday July 27 will find five more time slots filled up in the Oswego County Federal Credit Union Jazz & Blues Park at the popular Washington Square venue.
The first group of the day is “Paradigm Shift” based in Rochester. Their soul jazz music will take to the stage at 1:15 in the afternoon.
Next up will be “E.S.P.” based in Syracuse. Their Latin jazz sounds will be on stage at 3:30.
The next combination is sure to be a favorite of the day as Harborfest is always proud to be able to involve musicians connected to the SUNY system whenever possible. This year SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Oswego will be represented in the time slot that begins at 5:45 on the Labatt Blue Light Jazz & Blues Stage.
The final act of the night will “wrap” around the Grucci fireworks display presented by Entergy.
It will be a repeat performance from Friday night as “Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues” will take the stage at 8 and then again at 10 upon the completion of the fireworks display.
Two great acts in the Oswego County Federal Credit Union Jazz & Blues Park will round out Harborfest on Sunday July 28.
First up will be “Brownskin Band” based in Syracuse. Their R&B style of music will take to the stage at 1.
Finally, one of the most powerful horn bands to ever hit the jazz and blues scene will round out the festival as “Prime Time Funk” takes to the Labatt Blue Light Jazz & Blues Stage at 3. This 10-piece horn band with roots in Rochester, boasts some of the best
jazz and blues musicians anyplace.
2013 should be nothing short of spectacular in the Oswego County Federal Credit Union Jazz & Blues Park.
Along with three days full of great local, regional and national artists, visitors will be able to enjoy the Jazz & Blues Café and many food vendors including the “Price Chopper House of BBQ.”
