Police: Cell Phone Store Was Front For Drug Sales Operation

At about 11:36 a.m. on Friday, Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, Oswego County Drug Task Force and SP Fulton Uniform Troopers executed search warrants signed by Honorable Walter Hafner Jr., Oswego County Court, at Talk to Me Communications located at 190 County Route 57, town of Schroeppel and the residence of the owner of the business at 57 Bridge St., village of Phoenix.

Recovered as a result of the search warrant at the business were 10 ounces of cocaine, scales, packaging, various pills and $2,420, police said.

Located at the residence were an additional half ounce of cocaine and pills, according to the police report.

Based on the investigation it appears the cellular telephone business was a front for the illicit cocaine business, police said.

Arrested was Vernon W. Pedro, 35, from 57 Bridge St., Phoenix, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st (A-I felony) for the cocaine at the business and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B felony) for the cocaine at the residence.

Pedro was arraigned before Honorable Kenneth Auyer, Town of Minetto Court and committed to the Oswego County Jail without bail.
