Oswego Elks Lodge and ARISE Team Up On Ramp Project

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Elks Lodge #271 and Oswego ARISE teamed up recently to build three ramps for the disabled.

The Oswego Elks made this possible by applying for two grants from the Elks National Foundation.

The lodge was awarded $2,000 each from the Beacon and Gratitude grants.

The Beacon is for ongoing projects and the Gratitude grant is for projects were Elks can better serve the community.

With the monies, a mitre saw and building supplies were purchased from a local hardware store.

Pictured are the workers and an owner on just one of the ramps built.

Both agencies worked well together and hope to build more ramps next summer.

“It was very gratifying to help a family in need,” said James Oldenburg,  Leading Knight of Oswego Elks Lodge.
