Oswego Plans Flushing On Eastside

OSWEGO, NY – The city of Oswego Department of Public Works Water Maintenance personnel will be performing preventative maintenance flushing of the water distribution system on the eastside of the city starting October 28.

The affected area will be south of East Utica Street to the southern city limits and from State Route 481 to the eastern city limits, starting at East Utica Street and State Route 481.

It is estimated the project will take about three to four weeks to complete.

During this time, commercial and residential customers may experience occasional cloudy or dirty water while this important maintenance task is being performed.

If this occurs, let a cold water tap run until the water clears, usually 20 to 30 minutes.

If this does not remedy the situation, please call the Department of Public Works at 342-4212 and a supervisor will contact you to address the situation.

“Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding regarding this matter,” said Michael Smith, Commissioner of Public Works.
