Oswego Players To Show Film ‘Oswego Discovers Itself’

OSWEGO – The Oswego Players will show the film, “Oswego Discovers Itself” in the Frances Marion Brown Theater at the Oswego Civic Arts Center on April 11 at 7:30 p.m.

The showing will follow the Players’ regular monthly membership meeting, to which the public is invited.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

“Oswego Discovers Itself” was produced by a group from Columbia University in New York City in 1965.

The film captures many of the cultural aspects of the city at the time, including Fort Ontario, Richardson-Bates House Museum, Art Guild (forerunner of the Art Association of Oswego) and the Oswego Players.

The film is a wonderful look at the people and places of Oswego at the time and is a unique time capsule of Oswego in 1965.

The public is invited to view the movie free of charge.

There will be popcorn and beverages available at the theater.
