Oswego Police Announce Drug Arrest

OSWEGO, NY — During the month of June 2013 the Oswego City Police Departments Anti- Crime Team (ACT) began an investigation into the alleged possession and sales of marihuana occurring in the public areas around East Bridge St and East 9th St. Oswego.

As a result of that investigation a search warrant for the person of Mark D. Mannino, 28 years of age, of 164 East Bridge St., lower rear apartment, was executed on June 26th, 2013.

At that time investigators seized approximately 89 grams of marihuana.

Mannino was arrested for one count of Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 4th degree, a class A Misdemeanor.

Mannino was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Oswego City Court on Thursday August 29th, 2013.

After that arrest the Oswego City Police Department continued to receive information that Mannino was still allegedly possessing and selling marihuana in the area of East Bridge St and East 9th St.

The investigation was renewed and on Tuesday August 20th, 2013 ACT Investigators again arrested Mannino at 164 East Bridge St. after he was found to allegedly be in possession of 22 individual bags of marihuana having a total weight of approximately 33 grams.

19 of the bags of marihuana were packaged in such a manner as to be indicative of intent to sell.

Mannino was also found to be in possession an illegal pair of “Chuka Sticks” police said.

Mannino was charged with the following:

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, class D Felony
Criminal Possession of Marihuana 5th Degree, class B Misdemeanor

Mannino was arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility with no bail.

He has a return court date of Monday August 27th, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.

Further charges and arrests are possible and the investigation is continuing.
