Oswego Police Arrest Trio on Felony Drug Charges


OSWEGO, NY – On Monday, the Oswego City Police Departments Anti-Crime Team (ACT) conducted an investigation into the illegal possession and sales of heroin within the city of Oswego.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. ACT investigators made contact with the three occupants of a 2008 BMW SUV that was located within a parking lot on East First Street near East Utica Street.

As a result of the investigation 68 bags of heroin were seized and the three occupants, listed below, were arrested and criminally charged as follows:

Alton I. West, 25, of 146 West Lynhurst Ave. Syracuse NY – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree- with intent to sell, Class B Felony

Shawndell M. Johnson, 24, of 369 East Seneca Turnpike Syracuse NY – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree- with intent to sell, Class B Felony

Sharesha R. Pritchett, 28, of 3153 River Knoll Drive, Baldwinsville NY – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree- with intent to sell, Class B Felony

It is alleged that the three defendants acted in concert to travel to the city of Oswego from Syracuse to sell heroin.

The defendants were arraigned in Oswego City Court.

West, an alleged gang member with an active arrest warrant from the city of Syracuse was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash / $5,000 secured bail bond.

Johnson was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash / $10,000 secured bail bond.

Pritchett was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash / $2,000 secured bail bond.

All three defendants have a return court date of August 19 at 9:30 a.m.
