OSWEGO, NY – On April 6, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Oswego Police were dispatched to JC Pennyâ€™s, 140 State Route 104, Oswego, regarding a robbery that had just occurred.
Upon investigation, it was determined that a man had forcibly stolen a pair of shoes, by physically pushing store employees as the suspect exited the store with the stolen merchandise.
The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of police, but was subsequently taken into custody after Oswego Police located the suspect in a wooded area near the store.
Assistance from Oswego County Sheriffâ€™s Department and the United States Border Patrol aided in the quick apprehension of the suspect.
No weapons were used and no one was injured during the robbery.
The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Joshua A. Holley of 61 E. 10 1/2 thÂ St.
Holley was later arraigned in Oswego City Court on a charge of third-degree robbery (Class D felony).
Holley was remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail / $5,000 bond.
He is to return to court on April 15.
