OSWEGO, NY – As the countdown continues toward Oswego Speedway’s 66th consecutive season of green flag racing, fans have the opportunity to assist in getting the ‘Steel Palace’ and Oswego Kartway Bullring ready for action on April 30 with the 13th annual Pizza Villa Spring Spruce-Up Day.
The annual Spruce-Up Day at the Speedway will again begin promptly at 10 a.m., while clean up chores at the Kartway will take place beginning at 11 a.m.
Among the tasks on hand at the Speedway will be re-painting heat race victory lane, touching up the start/finish line stripe on the main straightaway, as well as cleaning up the walkway leading to the Speedway’s main entrance.
Those in attendance are encouraged to bring push brooms, small hand tools, and pickup trucks if available.
Any and all fans and community members are welcome to help kick-off the beginning of the 66th season of Speedway racing and enjoy a great lunch provided by the folks at Pizza Villa of Oswego.
Those in attendance for the Oswego Kartway portion of the clean up day are asked to bring gloves, pliers, and cordless drills, as the reconstruction of the pit area fencing will be the main order of work for the day.
Kartway pit stall renewals and selections will take place on April 30 at noon.
A team representative must be on hand to renew or select a Kartway pit stall for the 2016 season.
Kids 16 and under will again be admitted free at all Speedway events in 2016 with the exception of Budweiser International Classic Weekend and Race of Champions Weekend.
On track activity beings at Oswego Speedway on May 7 with the annual open test session for all racing divisions.
Testing will run from 1-5 p.m. on May 7 and is free for spectators to sit in the main grandstand.
Racing action at the Speedway begins on May 14 featuring the Speedway’s 66th consecutive opening night highlighted by the Race of Champions Modified Richie Evans Memorial 61 as well as kick-off events for the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS.
