GENESEO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men’s soccer team defeated host Geneseo 1-0 on Friday afternoon.
With the win improves the team’s record to 4-8-2 on the season and 3-3-1 in the SUNYAC.
Geneseo falls to 7-6-2 overall, 2-3-1 in conference.
The Lakers were quick out of the gate as they were able to score the game’s first, and ultimately only, goal. Just 16:09 into the match, Nick Zingaro was able to find Brody Magro in the middle of the box for a header that beat the keeper.
Oswego was locked down defensively after the goal, not allowing Geneseo to score the rest of the match.
Keeper Todd Lawson recorded seven saves on the day, picking up his third clean sheet on the year and second in a row.
Men’s soccer will look to extend its win streak to three Oct. 18 as the team has a 1 p.m. game against Brockport on the road.
