FREDONIA, NY – The Oswego State women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie at Fredonia on Friday afternoon.
It is the Lakers’ third straight game going into double overtime and the fourth double overtime game in five SUNYAC contests this season.
Oswego remains without a blemish in conference play, moving to 2-0-3, making the squad 5-4-3 overall.
Fredonia goes to 5-5-0 on the year and 2-1-1 in SUNYAC action with the stalemate.
After going scoreless in the first half, both teams would register a goal in the second period, with Oswego striking first.
At 56:36, Georgia Traynor took a corner for the Lakers, sending it into the box.
Oswego put pressure on the Blue Devils, forcing a Fredonia player to record an own goal for a 1-0 advantage.
The lead would not last for long as Katie Kleine found sister Kristie Kleine for a Fredonia goal at 60:40 to knot the score at 1-1.
Alyssa Glasshagel was able to keep the Blue Devils off the scoreboard the rest of the way, finishing with eight saves in 110 minutes for Oswego.
The Lakers outshot Fredonia 21-15 and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks during the contest.
Oswego will look to grab a win at 1 p.m. on Saturday as it travels to face conference foe Buffalo State.
