Lake Ontario report
The lake fishing report has ended for the season.

Oswego River report:
The recent increase in water flow has been welcomed by anglers including those from driftboats. This morning it is flowing at 6,900 cfs. Anglers enjoyed the beautiful above average temperatures over the last few days but the thermometer has dropped back to normal for this time of year. The trout action has been good throughout the river with steelhead and some particularly nice browns being taken. A few walleye have also been reported.

Notice: There are mandatory personal flotation device (PFD) zones on the river. For more information, visit our website at www.visitoswegocounty.com and click on the Fishing Report along the top bar on the home page. The Oswego Fire Department offers loaner life jackets at no charge through its “Loaner for Life” program. For more information contact the fire station, 35 E. Cayuga St., at 315-343-2161.

Salmon River report:
According to the Douglaston Salmon Run:
Wednesday we had rain for the better part of the day and although we didn’t get as much rain as we needed, it has caused the water to tick up a bit. Perhaps due to the cloud cover and rain, the fishing ticked up a bit as well. There weren’t any reports of anyone crushing them, but throughout the run we had reports of improved fishing. Instead of ones and twos, today we had reports of two’s, three’s and some better than that though not many. Still good numbers of browns are being brought to hand with steelhead in mixed sizes (a good sign for future years) and I even received a report of a “green” king at the end of the day. We’re hoping that the little pulse of water we received will bring more fish into the run. The current water flow at the dam remains at 185 cfs but the flow at Pineville is 294 cfs.

Oneida Lake report:
Those expected cooler temperatures have moved in with the thermometer forecasted to be in the upper 40s to low 50s over the weekend. Anglers did enjoy the warm conditions while they lasted. The 20-30 foot depth continues to produce some nice walleye. The cooler temperatures should help the shore bite pick up again with anglers casting stickbaits just before and after dark.

Sandy Pond report:
There is little to report from the pond this time of year. missing or outdated ad config
