OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego YMCA’s 27th Annual 5k Run/Walk, 10k Run and the river’s end bookstore Kids’ Fun Run will take place Harborfest weekend on July 25.
The 5k Run/Walk and 10k Run event will begin at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Oswego YMCA’s Armory with the finish at the city of Oswego’s Civic Plaza.
The annual kids fun starts at 8 a.m. in front of the Oswego YMCA and offers a ¼ mile, ½ mile and 1-mile route for kids ages 4-12.
Families and friends are encouraged to celebrate the Harborfest weekend with this annual walk/run event.
The routes offer much to see as they wind through scenic Oswego waterfronts, festival venues and the SUNY Oswego campus.
The 10K route will be an out and back revised route this year, traveling to the SUNY Oswego and back, while the 5K route will stay on the west side of the city of Oswego, sharing some of the 10K path.
The kids run will encompass one city block area and will repeat according to the distance selected.
“This is a fun way to add fitness into a weekend of free music, historical events, shopping and eating,” said Trish Levine, Health and Wellness Director at the Oswego YMCA.
There is an entry fee for all events.
Fees increase after July 1 and on the same day of the event.
Online registration is available at lightboxreg.com. Until 9 a.m. on July 22.
The Oswego YMCA will accept in-person registration until 8 a.m. on the day of the event.
Shirts in selected sizes are guaranteed to those who register before July 1 and are in limited supply for all registrants after.
Refreshments and awards will take place in the civic plaza following the events.
