Margaret Satterlee, M.D., has been elected president of the Oswego Hospital medical staff.

She had served as vice president of the group for the past two years.
As president of the medical staff, Dr. Satterlee will serve as the liaison between Oswego Health’s physicians, the Board, and the administration. She replaces Allison Duggan, M.D., who has been president for the past two years.

Dr. Satterlee, a gastroenterologist, who has been an active medical staff member since 1994, said that in her new role she would continue to build on the changes in healthcare taking place in Oswego County. “There are a lot of ongoing projects at Oswego Health and it will be interesting to see how new services evolve over the next few years,” Dr. Satterlee said. “I want to help the best I can with these changes.”

Among her goals, she said, is recruiting additional physicians to Oswego County.

Dr. Satterlee, a native of Rome, earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from Boston University. She completed her internship, residency and fellowship at Upstate Medical University. At Upstate she was chief resident for internal medicine.

She and her husband, Tom, have two sons, ages seven and nine.
