OSWEGO – Over 100 physicians and advanced practice providers now make up a new multi-specialty medical group offering an extensive array of services across CNY. At the helm of this new entity is recently appointed President Micheal Stephens, BSc, MD, AAFP.
Offering the community accessible, high-quality healthcare, including primary care and specialty care in the areas of orthopedics, cardiology, ENT, gastroenterology, breast care, general surgery, urology, and bariatrics, Oswego Health has rebranded its multi-specialty medical group to Oswego Health Medical Practice.
Dr. Stephens brings over 20 years of experience to the position of President of Oswego Health Medical Practice. Beginning his medical career in 1997 in British Columbia, Dr. Stephens has clinical experience in emergency medicine, family medicine, hospice care, assisted living, and skilled nursing.
In 2020, Dr. Stephens was appointed Associate Chief Medical Officer for the nonprofit healthcare system, a role he held until 2024 before transitioning to President of Oswego Health Medical Practice.
Along with his administrative duties, Dr. Stephens also provides care to patients at Oswego PrimeCare, formerly known as Oswego Family Physicians. In addition, he is the Medical Director for Morningstar as well as at The Gardens and is one of the owner-operators of The Maples, an assisted living facility in Fulton.

Dr. Stephens earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Guelph and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Western Ontario. He later completed his Degree in Family Medicine from the University of British Columbia in 1997.
He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for ConnextCare and the Richard S. Shineman Foundation.
