OSWEGO – Oswego Health’s Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine has been recognized with two of the highest honors awarded by Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services, earning both the Center of Distinction Award and the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award.
The Center of Distinction Award recognizes wound care centers that achieve exceptional clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate exceeding 92 percent. The Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award is presented to centers that rank in the top 10 percent of eligible Healogics wound care programs nationwide based on comprehensive healing rates weighted by wound complexity.
“These awards reflect the dedication, expertise, and compassion our wound care team brings to every patient encounter,” said Michael C. Backus, President and CEO of Oswego Health. “Healing a chronic wound can be a long and challenging journey. To be recognized nationally for both clinical excellence and patient satisfaction speaks to the outstanding care our team provides and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality, specialized healthcare close to home for the communities we serve.”
The Oswego Health Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine provides advanced treatment for patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, infections, non-healing surgical wounds, and other chronic conditions that require specialized care. As a member of the Healogics network of nearly 600 wound care centers nationwide, the program offers leading-edge therapies, including negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, growth factor therapies, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
“For our team, these awards are about more than statistics—they represent the lives we’ve helped heal and the trust our patients place in us every day,” said Carlos Dator, Jr., MD, Medical Director for the Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine. “We are proud to provide nationally recognized wound care right here in Central New York. Our goal is always to help patients return to the activities and quality of life they deserve, and these honors validate the exceptional work being done by our physicians, nurses, hyperbaric technicians, and support staff.”
The dual recognition reflects Oswego Health’s “We Care” philosophy, which guides every patient interaction across the health system. By combining advanced technology, evidence-based treatments, and a patient-centered approach, the Center continues to improve outcomes while ensuring patients can access highly specialized wound care services without traveling outside the region.
