OSWEGO – Oswego Health Medical Practice continues to strengthen access to advanced orthopedic care with the addition of Bradley Raphael, MD, a highly respected, board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, to its Center for Orthopedic Care.
With more than 15 years of experience treating athletes, active adults, and patients with complex orthopedic conditions, Dr. Raphael brings nationally recognized expertise in sports medicine, joint preservation, arthroscopic surgery, orthobiologics and orthopedic injury care.
A native of Central New York, Dr. Raphael earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Yale University School of Medicine before completing a surgical internship at Weill Cornell New York-Presbyterian Medical Center. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, consistently ranked among the nation’s top orthopedic hospitals, followed by an elite sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, a program known for caring for professional athletes across Major League Baseball, the NBA, NHL, and other professional sports organizations.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Raphael has served as a team physician for numerous collegiate and high school athletic programs, including Syracuse University, SUNY Oswego, Liverpool High School, Baldwinsville High School and Fayetteville-Manlius High School. During his fellowship training, he also worked alongside the medical teams of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, and Los Angeles Lakers.
Dr. Raphael joins an experienced orthopedic team that includes Michael Diaz, DO; Raman Dhawan, MD; Brandon Weaver, PA-C; and Helen Williams, CSCS, PA-C, further expanding Oswego Health’s ability to provide comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine care close to home. He will continue to serve as Director of Sports Medicine at St. Joseph’s Health, where he has spent years caring for athletes at every level, from local high school and collegiate programs to professional sports organizations.

He currently serves on the Board of the New York State Orthopedic Society, was recently nominated to the Board of Councilors of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and remains actively involved in advancing orthopedic care and sports medicine research.
