Oswego Health Medical Practice Welcomes New Physician Assistant to Center for Cardiology

OSWEGO – Oswego Health Medical Practice, a leading multi-specialty healthcare provider in Central New York, is pleased to announce the addition of Erika Ruggieri, PA, to the Center for Cardiology team. Ruggieri will join the dedicated cardiology professionals at Oswego Health, enhancing their ability to offer exceptional cardiovascular care to the community.

A SUNY Upstate Medical University graduate, Ruggieri earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in August 2024. She also completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Niagara University in 2021. During her academic career, Ruggieri gained extensive hands-on experience in various clinical settings, demonstrating her commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Before joining Oswego Health Medical Practice, Ruggieri served as an Ambulatory Technologist at Strong Memorial Hospital in the Ambulatory Pediatrics Department, where she worked closely with pediatric patients and their families, gaining valuable experience in patient care and medical procedures. Her diverse background, including experience in both pediatrics and general medicine, has well-equipped her to join Oswego Health’s cardiology team.

Starting December 9th, Ruggieri will collaborate with an experienced team of cardiology professionals, including Thomas Grady, Jr., MD, FACC, David Bass, DO, FACC, Michael Carey, PA-C, David Downey, PA, and Carrie Marlow, MS, PA-C, this team offers a wide range of cardiology services, from routine cardiac evaluations to advanced treatments for heart disease.

At The Center for Cardiology, Ruggieri will provide care focused on diagnosing, treating, and preventing heart disease in adult patients. The center is committed to offering comprehensive and personalized care, addressing conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arrhythmias, and heart failure. With a dedicated team of specialists, the Oswego Health Medical Practice’s cardiology department aims to improve heart health and quality of life for residents in CNY.
