OSWEGO — Oswego Health announced Oct. 27 that Travis White has been appointed program director of The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine.

White will oversee the center’s clinical, operational and financial performance. According to the health system’s announcement, his responsibilities include supporting evidence-based wound care services and patient outcomes.

White brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, spanning healthcare operations, workforce development, regulatory compliance, financial management and multi-site administration. Most recently, he served as executive director for Firetree Ltd.’s Syracuse Pavilion, providing executive leadership and operational oversight for a federally contracted residential reentry center.

He has led healthcare operations for MEDIKO, Centurion Health, Corizon Health, Wexford Health Sources and The Centers at St. Camillus, managing complex healthcare environments, large multidisciplinary teams and multimillion-dollar budgets.

White holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Alabama State University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Healthcare Administration through Capella University.

“I’ve always wanted to pursue healthcare administration within a community healthcare setting,” said White. “When this opportunity became available, I saw it as a chance to contribute to patient care in a meaningful way while continuing to grow as a healthcare leader. My goal is to work hard, build a culture of accountability, and create an environment where our team enjoys coming to work while delivering the highest level of care to our patients.”

As program director, White will focus on staff development, operational excellence and continued growth of the center’s advanced wound care services. The announcement describes him as a collaborative leader who values accountability, communication and a strong work ethic.

According to Oswego Health, the center offers treatments for chronic or non-healing wounds, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bioengineered tissue applications and other advanced wound care treatments. The health system says these services help restore the body’s natural healing process and improve quality of life for patients with complex wound conditions.

The release states that chronic wounds affect more than 8 million people nationwide and that incidence rates are rising due to factors including diabetes, obesity, vascular disease and an aging population.
