Oz Roller Girls, Lighthouse Lanes To Host Barbecue July 21


OSWEGO — The Oz Roller Girls will host a Christmas in July chicken barbecue fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. on July 21, at sponsor Lighthouse Lanes, 295 E. Albany St. in Oswego.

Dinners will cost $8 and include chicken, side, roll and dessert. The team will hold a bake sale on site for those interested in additional sweets and support of the Oz Roller Girls non-profit organization.

Pre-sale dinners, which should be picked up by 3 p.m. that day, can be ordered by emailing [email protected] or by contacting any Oz Roller Girls member. Members will deliver pre-ordered dinners (if in quantities of five or more) around the greater Oswego-Fulton area to businesses and groups who are unable to make it to the event.

For those interested in what the sport is about, Oz Roller Girls members will host derby demos in the Lighthouse Lanes parking lot at 1 and 3 p.m. The league is always interested in new skaters, refs and volunteers and will offer more information at the July 21 event.

The next Oz Roller Girls bout, titled “Highway to Hurt,” will welcome Shoreline Roller Derby and feature special guests The Isotopes on Aug. 18, in Oswego’s Crisafulli Rink.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. for the 6 p.m. bout.
