Pair Awarded Scholarships


ALFRED, NY – Two Oswego County residents have each been awarded scholarships to attend Alfred State.

Eleanor Page of Oswego was awarded a $29,120 “Presidential Scholarship.”

Page is slated to graduate in 2017 from Oswego High School and intends to enroll in the forensic science technology (BS) program.

Brandon Mironti of Pheonix was awarded a $4,000 “Academic Distinction Scholarship.”

Mironti is slated to graduate in 2017 from John C Birdlebough High School and intends to enroll in the architectural technology (BS) program.

The “Presidential Scholarship” (free room {standard room, double occupancy}) is awarded to students who possess a 91 or better cumulative high school average through their junior year and who have achieved a 1270 combined reading/writing and math new SAT (1200 combined critical reading and math old SAT) or a composite ACT score of 26.

Recipients must maintain a required grade point average to continue to receive free room in subsequent semesters.

The “Academic Distinction Scholarship” is awarded to first-time freshmen students who possess an 87 or better cumulative high school average through the end of their junior year and who have achieved an 1140 combined reading/writing and math new SAT (1070 combined critical reading and math old SAT) or 23 composite ACT score.

Fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Alfred State offers some 49 associate degree programs, 23 baccalaureate degree programs, and two certificate programs.
