Ruby: Pet of the Week

OSWEGO – Ruby is a young mama who has spent her recent months proving what a loving, devoted cat she can be. After raising her kittens, she’s ready for a home where she gets to be the one being adored and spoiled.

Ruby is incredibly affectionate and loves pets, scratches, cheek rubs, and spending time with her people. She’s even discovered that laps are pretty wonderful and has happily settled in for long cuddle sessions. She’s also a dedicated catnip enthusiast and a good catnip toy can keep her entertained for quite a while.

Ruby is wonderfully easy-going with other cats, even if they are agitated with her. If another cat occasionally hisses at her, Ruby doesn’t seem particularly bothered. She’ll simply carry on with her day. As much as she enjoys playing with other cats and happily shares with others, she’s also perfectly capable of entertaining herself. Ruby enjoys batting toys around, exploring, and keeping busy. She’ll occasionally pause to watch the birds through a window, but there is simply too much else to investigate to spend all day on bird duty.

Ruby is a bit of a conversationalist and has a loud, expressive meow. Ruby isn’t afraid to let you know what she’s thinking. She has many things to talk about but wants to hear what you have to say too. She’s also discovered an important truth about office work: the computer mouse is apparently an excellent pillow, and keyboards make delightful beds. While an extra cozy bed (that she regularly sleeps on) is nearby, Ruby remains unconvinced that humans understand proper desk-cat etiquette.

Ruby has finished her chapter as a young mother. Now she’s ready for the next one: being somebody’s beloved companion. Ruby is under 1 year old, spayed and vaccinated. She is indoor only and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. The adoption fee is $125.
