OSWEGO, NY – Oswego High School junior Jenna Ballard will present a solo piano recital at 2 p.m. on June 7 at the Church of the Resurrection, 120 W. Fifth St.
The program is free and open to the public.
Those who would like to make a monetary donation to the Oswego County Humane Society may do so in the collection box in the back of the room.
Jenna has been a private piano student of Marcia Pavel Sideris of The Sideris Piano Studio since she was six years old.
Her all-memorized program will consist of advanced level concert artist selections from the works of classical composers J.S. Bach, Haydn, Schubert, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, MacDowell, Khachaturian and Rachmaninoff.
She has been featured on solo piano with the Oswego High School Band, and will be featured as a piano soloist with the Oswego High School Orchestra in June at its annual Seniors Concert.
Jenna also plays violin in the Oswego County Youth Orchestra and the Oswego High School Symphonic Orchestra, where she serves as concert mistress.
She played violin for the high school musical Pippin and was selected for All County Music Festival, Area All State, and NYSSMA solo fest.
She also plays cello in the Oswego High School Concert Orchestra.
A National Honor Society member, academically she ranks in the Top 10 of her class, and has served on the Oswego City Youth Court as chief judge.
She is the daughter of Wendy and Dave Ballard of Oswego and hopes to pursue a career in engineering in the future.
