Players Announce Change In Performance Schedule

OSWEGO – In an effort to make its performances more accommodating to the Oswego theater-going audience, the Oswego Players have altered the days when it will be giving performances.

Steve Standish, as Barney, strikes up a conversation with Inez Parker, one of the three women in the play "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" that he attempts to seduce, but nothing seems to go right for poor Barney.

There will still be the same number of performances available to the public in the new schedule; however, plays will now open on a Saturday evening with the addition of a Sunday matinee the first weekend.

That will add an additional matinee to the schedule, a time when more people seek to come out to a Players’ production.

Opening the 79th season of the Oswego Players will be Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” on March 18 at 8 p.m. in the Frances Marion Brown Theater in the Oswego Civic Arts Center in Fort Ontario Park.

Other performances will be March 19 at 2 p.m., March 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. and closing with a 2 p.m. matinee performance on March 26.

“Last of the Red Hot Lovers” is the first of two Neil Simon comedies planned for 2017.

The cast includes Steve Standish, Inez Parker, Cassie Slough and Keilah Gates.

The play is being directed by Paul McKinney.

For reservations, contact the Oswego Players’ box office at 315-343-5138.
