Oswego County Sheriff’s Office: Monday, 8/03/09

On 7/31/09 at 1:00 a.m., Joseph A. Battles, 40, of 1237 County Line Road, Fulton, NY, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, a class D felony; Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, First Degree, a class E felony; Failed to Keep Right; and Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent. Mr. Battles was arraigned before the Hon. Bruce Wells, Town of Granby Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to return to court on 8/10/09. The arrest was the result of an investigation into a motor vehicle accident that occurred on County Line Road, 1/10 of a mile west of Ritchie Road, where Mr. Battles reportedly lost control and drove off the road 1/10 of a mile going into a ditch and shrubbery.

On 8/01/09 at 2:29 a.m., Jerry M. Metheney, 24, of 601 Burlington St., Watertown, NY, was arrested based on a Family Court Warrant charging him with violating Article IV of the Family Court Act (failure to pay support) after he was initially detained by members of the Watertown Police Department and turned over to a member of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Metheney was subsequently arraigned before the Hon. James Ridgeway, Town of Richland Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to appear before Oswego County Family Court on 8/03/09.

On 8/01/09 at 2:37 a.m., Jenny E. Mazzoli, 30, of 291 Cherry St., Oswego, NY, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, and Failed to Keep Right, following a traffic stop on SR 104 just west of Simpson Drive in the Town of Scriba after she had been observed swerving into the westbound lane while driving eastbound on SR 104. Ms. Mazzoli is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Scriba Court on 8/20/09. The arrest was the result of a STOP DWI assignment.

On 8/01/09 at 8:31 p.m., Eric E. Fleegel, 27, of PO Box 240, Parish, NY, was arrested by a member of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving With .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol, and Failed to Keep Right following an investigation that was initiated by a member of the Central Square Police Department who initiated a traffic stop. Mr. Fleegel was released on tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Hastings Court on 8/14/09.
