On 11/10/08 at 11:48 p.m., Dennis D. Covey, 57, of 568 Cnty Rd. 42 W., Athens, Ontario was operating a 2002 Peterbuilt tractor trailer registered to Don Anderson Heritage Ltd., on Novelis West Gate Entrance Rd., 2/10 mile south of CR 1 in the Town of Scriba, when he reportedly was turning into a parking lot misjudging the turn due to lighting and went into the ditch resulting in the fuel tanks leaking into a culvert. Mr. Covey was ticketed for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. Driver inattention and improper turning seem to have been contributing factors.
On 11/11/08 at 11:30 a.m., Edward L. Schroeder, 24, of 54 E. 7th Street, Oswego, NY was arrested for Criminal Contempt, 2nd degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a MV, Third Degree, both misdemeanors stemming from the investigation into a domestic disturbance of which reportedly occurred at a Village of Mexico residence where he allegedly tried to make contact with the individual who has the order of protection against him. Mr. Schroeder was arraigned in the Town of Palermo Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1000.00 cash or $2000.00 bond. He is due to return to the Town of Mexico Court on 11/18/08.
On 11/12/08, Richard J. Alvarado, 44, of 307 Rathburn Rd. Bldg #24, Hannibal, NY was arrested at 10:30 p.m. for Aggravated Harassment, 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor stemming from the investigation into a complaint made by an individual of which he allegedly made phone calls threatening to burn the individual’s house down. Mr. Alvarado was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Granby Court on 12/1/08.
