On 5/22/08, a 14 year old male residing in the City of Oswego and attending Kenney Middle School in Hannibal and his mother were issued an appearance ticket stemming from an incident, that if committed by an adult, would have constituted the crime of Reckless Endangerment, Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor. The youth was accused of using a lighter to start the sheets of toilet paper on fire that were hanging from a roll of toilet paper that was on the wall of a stall in the eighth grade school’s bathroom, an act that took place at approximately 10:30 a.m. The student then immediately extinguished the fire by clapping his hands over it. The incident caused no damage to the school or fire alarm activation. The boy was released to his mother with instructions to contact the Oswego County Probation Department for further proceedings.On 5/22/08 at 6:00 p.m., Gary A. Bubis, Jr., 28, and Jessica L. DeMott, 27, both of 462 SR 13, Apt. 1, Williamstown, NY, were each served with a Criminal Summons issued by the Hon. John Kaminski, Town of Williamstown Court, charging them with Harassment, Second Degree, a violation, stemming from the investigation into an incident that occurred on 3/07/08 in the parking lot of a Town of Williamstown business. At that time Ms. DeMott was accused of engaging in a fight with a female victim while Mr. Bubis allegedly threatened injury to a male victim who was attempting to protect the female victim. Records indicate Mr. Bubis and Ms. DeMott appeared before Town of Williamstown Court on 5/22/08 to answer the charge.

On 5/24/08 at 6:30 p.m., Kayla M. Samson, 20, of 1100 Emery St., Apt. 328, Fulton, NY, was arrested for Petit Larceny and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both class A misdemeanors, after she was allegedly involved in stealing merchandise from the Wal-Mart store located in the Town of Granby while in the company of a child under the age of 17. Ms. Samson was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Granby Court on 6/02/08.
Also arrested in the incident was Jennifer J. Baker, 20, of 313 Seneca Street, Fulton, NY, who was charged with Petit Larceny for her participation in the theft and further charged with Harassment, Second Degree, a violation, after she reportedly struck a Wal-Mart Security Guard in the head with her fist as he was attempting to stop Ms. Baker while she was leaving the store. Ms. Baker was also issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charges lodged against her before Town of Granby Court on 6/02/08.
