Assembly & Senate Republicans, School Officials Call For Delay To All-Electric School Bus Mandate

Members of the Assembly Republican Conference will be joined by Senate Republicans to hold a press conference on Monday, Feb. 12 at 1:00 PM to share serious concerns regarding the statewide zero-emission school bus purchase mandate. Beginning in 2027, school districts will be required to purchase only zero-emission buses, adding billions in costs to districts statewide. Legislation introduced by members of both Minority Conferences would immediately pause the state’s mandate on school districts until a feasibility study and cost-benefit analysis of the program was conducted.
