City of Fulton GOP Committee Endorses County Clerk, Treasurer and 5th Ward Councilor for 2025 Election

Still seeking Candidates for Common Council, interviews to be held Feb. 3

FULTON – The City of Fulton Republican committee announced today that it proudly endorses incumbents Terry Wilbur for Oswego County Clerk and Kevin Gardner for Oswego County Treasurer. In addition, the committee proudly endorsed newcomer to elected office, Mat Overton, as its pick for 5th Ward Councilor.

“We are excited so far about our endorsements for the 2025 election. We believe with both Terry and Kevin this county is in good hands and we are thrilled that each of them wishes to continue serving in their respective roles. And we are excited about Mat’s energy and enthusiasm for the city, to make some improvements in city government,” said Beth Nicholson, Chair of the City of Fulton Republican committee.

“Kevin has streamlined many operations at the County Treasurer’s office to make that office more accessible for the public and Terry has and his staff have spent countless hours digitizing records to make locating records easier and assisting with historic preservation. These are just a couple of the systems that these leaders have put into place that are helping our county. In addition, they work well together and that’s important to the taxpayers and the day to day operations at the county. For these reasons and more, the City of Fulton GOP committee unanimously and wholeheartedly endorses both candidates.

“Mat has lived in Fulton for a long time and grew up here. His dedication to the Memorial Day Salute committee and his experience as a former City of Fulton Public Works employee will be a benefit to the common council. Most of all, he’s enthusiastic about seeing our city improve and we can easily get behind that.”

The committee will continue interviewing candidates for the 2025 election on Monday, Feb. 3 at 6 pm at the Polish Home, upstairs. Anyone wishing to be endorsed may come to the meeting.
