Update on Efforts to Hold NY Comptroller Accountable
I recently sent a letter to the New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli expressing concerns over his office’s decision to delay key findings related to the audit of the New York State Unemployment Insurance system until after an election. The audit report 2021-S-3 titled, “Department of Labor: Controls and Management of the Unemployment Insurance System (The Report),” details rampant waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer funds intended for COVID relief.
Our letter to DiNapoli emphasized that the comptroller’s decision to delay making the findings public until after the 2022 election was potentially a deliberate attempt to limit damage to Governor Kathy Hochul’s New York campaign and withhold vital and relevant information from voters.
I will continue to seek all documents and communications between any New York Comptroller employee and employees with the Office of the New York State Governor until New Yorkers have answers. Read the full letter here.
My Comments on the Election of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker and Republican Priorities in the 118th Congress
Congresswoman Claudia Tenney on Fox @ Night discussing the Speaker's vote
Congratulations to Speaker Kevin McCarthy and all those elected to serve this great nation in the 118th Congress.
House Republicans have offered a bold, productive, and positive agenda for America that is built on the foundation of freedom and prosperity for all. The deliberative process over the last several days was healthy for our Republican Conference and our nation’s democratic process. It resulted in a set of rule changes that make good on our Commitment to America by restoring transparency to Congress, reining in runaway spending, holding China accountable, and strengthening oversight.
Republicans were elected to govern, and now that we have a Speaker and a plan to make Congress work again, that is exactly what we will do.

Congratulations on the Swearing in of Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione and Jefferson County Sheriff Pete Barnett
Last week we celebrated the swearing-in of newly elected Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione and Jefferson County Sheriff Pete Barnett.
We look forward to working with law enforcement across NY-24 to keep our communities safe. God bless our brave men and women in law enforcement!
