Schumer Statement On Micron’s Planned Groundbreaking Next Week In Central New York

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer today released the following statement after Micron announced its planned groundbreaking next week of its new complex of memory chip fab facilities in Central NY, bringing tens of thousands of jobs to Upstate NY thanks to his CHIPS & Science Law:

“With Micron ready to break ground next week, we are ushering in the next chapter of Central NY’s future. This is the culmination of years of work, and my dream when I first authored the CHIPS & Science Law to make an historic investment like this for Upstate NY a reality. We are finally just days away from putting the first shovel in the ground to fundamentally transform Upstate NY’s economy, bringing tens of thousands of good-paying jobs, and bringing semiconductor manufacturing back from overseas with Upstate NY leading the way.”
