Pratt House Announces Summer Hours

The Pratt House Museum, located at 177 South First Street in Fulton, will begin new summer hours this week. The museum will be open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment.

The museum offers educational programming and temporary exhibits several times a year. A new children’s summer program, “Blast into the Past” will be offered in three sessions during July and August. Currently on view, “With Honor & Glory: Military History, 1754 – 2008” through Nov. 12, featuring displays about our past to present local, regional, and national military history.

Permanent exhibits focus primarily on the history of local industries and businesses, early transportation, education, recreation, and family life including a period style kitchen. Many items available in the gift and bookstore. Local research and genealogical information is also available upon request.

The Pratt House Museum is maintained by membership, donations, grants, and the fundraising efforts of the Friends of History In Fulton N.Y., Inc. Seasonal activities, exhibits and fundraisers are announced through the local media, and the public is encouraged to attend.

Admission is $2 for adults, under 18 and members are free. Call the museum at 598-4616 to become a member, volunteer, schedule a guided tour or for more information.
