OSWEGO, NY – Bill Reilly, owner of river’s end bookstore in Oswego presented Meg Henderson, coordinator of Literacy Volunteers, with a two $50 gift certificates that will be used as part of the prizes for the eighth annual Diane Falise Memorial Scrabble Fest.
To be held September 19 at the Oswego Elks Lodge, Scrabble Fest serves as a fundraiser for Literacy Volunteers.
The event will also feature a silent auction and a 50 / 50 drawing.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with games beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Entry fee is $100 per team and includes light refreshments.
Community members looking to join the fun but not compete are welcome.
The cost for spectators is $15 and includes light refreshments.
A cash bar will also be available during the event.
All proceeds from Scrabble Fest will support LVOC’s efforts to increase literacy in Oswego County through services that help adults gain reading, writing, and other life skills.
