Ruiz, Wood Win Fulton Lions’ Scholarships

Daisy Ruiz and Amanda Wood, 2010 graduates of G. Ray Bodley High School, were awarded the Fulton Lions Club’s 2010 H. and Mary Dowd Memorial Scholarship and John Scaringi Memorial Scholarship respectively. The Scaringi scholarship provides the winner with $750 per year for four years and the Dowd scholarship provides $500 per year toward their college costs. Ruiz will be attending Cayuga Community College with plans to transfer to Buffalo State to study Criminal Justice. Wood  will attend Damon College and major in Physical Therapy. The Fulton Lions Club is one of the largest and most active in Central New York. Events like their annual Lions Loot Sweepstakes and Labor Day Duck Derby raise thousands of dollars to help the sight and hearing impaired in the greater Fulton area.
